I have the sprint Rant cell phone & i dont have picture mail so how can i put my pictures on the computer?

i tried using the cord that connects to the computer but when i plug it in nothing happens to my computer and/or phone.I have the sprint Rant cell phone %26amp; i dont have picture mail so how can i put my pictures on the computer?
